We at Fit by Sonic recognise our members' achievements throughout the year. Leah joined us in 2018 and she was an instant hit to our members and staff.
This is a chance for us to reflect and tell you that we are happy with the motivation and dedication you bring to Fit by Sonic and how you inspire our community.
We would like to congratulate Leah as she is an amazing woman. Leah's own words"  Among various hobbies, Zumba stands out as my utmost favorite" It is a great privilege to be a part of a fitness group that consistently prioritizes the well-being of the community. This is evident through their support for charities, promotion of local businesses, empowerment of women, and the creation of a sisterhood atmosphere. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Fit by Sonic team for their kind gesture, which has genuinely touched my heart. Throughout 2023 we will be providing our members an easier option to drop off unwanted items at
Streatham Common venue every Monday evening. Last drop at 20:15pm.
Please only long-life food - e.g tinned tomatoes, long-life pasta sauce, tinned soup, tinned ( non-pork ) meals, Toiletries, UHT Milk -  No Fresh Produce.

During the registration process, you will be asked to complete an updated Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q). 
This is the usual form that you have already completed at least once when you attended your first Fit by Sonic class.
It covers specific health history questions and identifies potential risks associated with physical activity.  Y
ou will also be able to update your emergency contacts.

What TeamUp Provides


Once you have completed the registration process you can then use the Mobile Apps (or a Web Browser) to manage your account and keep track of the classes you have attended.
Whether you have a Junkie Card or Pay As You Go etc- 
The details of Junkie Cards purchased since April 2019 should already be shown within TeamUp, however, it has not been possible to include details of Junkie Cards from before April 2019.

Once logged in you can view and register for any of the forthcoming Fit by Sonic Classes as well as paying for those classes either with a Junkie Card

Why Sonic Spin?


Aside from the group energy, one of the things that makes spin classes so much better than regular stationary cycling is the bikes themselves. Spinning bikes are equipped with a weighted flywheel in the front that picks up speed as you pedal, and the seats and handlebars are adjustable, so you feel like you’re riding on a real bike.

There’s a knob below the handlebars that allows you to adjust the tension, making pedaling harder or easier, as you ride down flat roads, up mountain sides, and down hills. Spinning is very popular, especially among people who don’t care for traditional exercise classes. You control your bike’s tension, so you can stay within a comfortable exercise zone for your fitness level, while still feeling like you’re keeping up with the class.

Everyone finishes together and gets a great workout. Spinning scorches about 9.2 to 15.6 calories per minute or about 600 calories per class. All that pedaling tones your glutes, thighs, and calves.

wpmWhy barefoot?

Over the past three decades, fitness shoe manufacturers have developed advanced technology to cushion and control motion in our feet and ankles. This advanced support does not allow articulation of our joints and soft tissue. We've lost flexibility and mobility and our feet have become stiff and weak over- supporting them. We’ve disconnected with our feet!

The willPower Method programs have been barefoot in gyms since 2000. We know how to teach students to stretch their toes, and increase circulation and mobility throughout their feet and ankles. We train our clients of all ages to land on their feet gracefully; reducing pain and injuries in their feet, ankels and knees. It just makes good sense. Soon, you will find increasingly more programs are kicking off their shoes and going barefoot.

wp 2In fact, we have recently partnered with Vibram FiveFingers®, the leaders in minimalist shoes, to help minimalist shoe-wearers to have safer and more efficient experiences when they are wearing a non-support shoe. Stacey Lei Krauss, the creator of The willPower Method, has so much experience with foot fitness, that she has recently joined Vibram's Advisory Board.

We don't suggest that you buy a barefoot shoe today and begin running today. We DO suggest that you stregthen your feet and ankles - essentially wake them up - since they have been bound, cushioned and supported for so long. We do suggest wearing a minimal shoe like Vibram FF and allowing your body to progressively adjust.

You will need to be aware and feel your feet and lower legs awaken. Once you wake up your feet, your body will be more functional for everyday life in a barefoot-type shoe... and you can even start barefoot running, if you'd like.
